Hi, I'm Michael Throm. I write this blog, am a MBA candidate at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, and occasionally consult on operations management issues.
I'm Michael Throm, an eight year Army veteran pursuing a Master's of Business Administration degree at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
The U.S. Army
I spent eight years in the Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radioloical, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRN-E) Specialist. My primary job function was to detect, identify, sample, analyze, decontaminate and report on the release of hazardous materials. This meant I was often placed into the Operations department (S3) at the battalion level or higher where I was responsible for CBRN-E training and readiness program development. I had the opportunities to be a team lead in the Army's Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high- yield Explosives (CBRNE) Response Force (DCRF) for three years; assist in the Task Force Operations department of CBRN-E management of Joint Task Force Civil Support operations for two years; and serve as an adjutant Battalion Master Gunner in the Republic of Korea.
I spent ten years as a freelance Graphic Designer, working with a variety of clients in the production of advertisements, business identity packages, multimedia projects, packaging design and web design. During this time I gained valuable experience in budgeting, conflict resolution, cost estimating, cross platform integration and migration, customer relations, legal frameworks, project management, and vendor relations.
I don't run advertising or third-party scripts on this site, and I pay for all costs associated with it. If you would like to support me, you can download and try the Brave Browser for free.
